    Amanda Christie

    Director of Operations
Amanda Christie is a lifelong resident of West Virginia. Her passion has always been to help others, especially our senior citizens. As a child she spent many hours visiting residents at a nursing home where her mother was employed as an aid. Later Amanda was employed at a chiropractic clinic and showed great empathy for the patients. Her assistance was invaluable as she made certain each patient was well cared for and comfortable.
Still Amanda was looking for a more direct contact with people. She says,” I always want to feel like I help the people I meet”. That desire Brought her to Home Helpers in 2008. “Amanda’s selflessness and conscientious attention to her clients made her stand out among our caregivers. Amanda is always willing to help”, said owner Rob Christie.
To further her career, Amanda took a two year leave to attend Washington State Community College where she earned a degree in Applied Science in Social Services. After which, Home Helpers was very fortunate to have Amanda return as Director of operations. Her education and experience has given her a greater insight into understanding and helping our clients. It is a great advantage to have her on our staff.

    Rob Christie

    Owner
When Rob Christie’s father became ill he learned first-hand the need to address the overwhelming challenges we all face when a loved one needs assistance. As a result of those experiences and a desire to make a difference in the life of others, he opened Home Helpers of the Mid-Ohio Valley in 2006. “Our service is designed to make life easier for our clients as well as their Families.” He said, “Then our clients and their families can have peace of mind and concentrate on their life and relationships.”
Rob Left his corporate job in 1994 to fulfill his dream of business ownership. As with Home Helpers he saw a need in his community and opened a Merry Maids house cleaning service in Shreveport, La. Today he is proud as his youngest daughter, who was only nine months old when the business opened, is managing that same Merry Maids business. Rob said, “Our Home Helpers clients often need assistance with house cleaning and I am able to use my experience from Merry Maids to make sure that we meet and exceed client expectations on that front.
A U.S. Navy veteran, Rob is very interested in helping our vets. “We are a provider for a little known veteran’s benefit called “Aid and Attendance”. Qualifying veterans, their spouse or surviving spouse can receive our service at little or no cost.” Rob continues on to say, “It’s all about making a difference and helping others.”
