These three are my best teachers and support as well as being miracle workers in getting our sometimes difficult client patient to do the things he needs to do while cheering him up too.

Samantha has been a joy to have as a caregiver. She truly cares about my father and always has his interest and well being in mind. Carey’s skillfulness was immediately successful in gaining my mother’s trust. Right away I could see that my mother was comfortable with her. Carey was successful in getting my mother to do the normal activities of daily living where the disease posed difficulties doing so. Carey often went above and beyond, helping me find ways to overcome many unique challenges.

Peris has been a great manager, always available for any situation that arrives. Some of the HHC workers have not worked out for various reason but Peris has consistently come up with the right solutions.

The team here is really lovely and works hard to meet each client’s needs. Communication is A+ and makes it easy to coordinate schedule changes, etc. as needed. Highly recommend for an extra helping hand when working with a senior loved one.

I liked Nadene, and Antony, they were very involved in called me when there might be a problem, and visited him often. They were not impatient with him, and his Alzheimer’s. He called them many times, and they were very patient with him, and never said that he was a problem. They adjusted things when he needed them to during the day. It was really good, we got 3 hours a day, 15 hours a week.

The moment that I met Karen Hale, I immediately knew how helpful she would be to my mother! She is so caring and kind. She always has time to listen to anything we have to say, and is so patient!

My neighbor recommended them to me. They know what they are doing, they help me exercise and check in on me. Amber from the office staff is very nice and sweet. She calls to ask questions. They are exactly what I need, and they do their job when they come to see me.

I like that they take such good care of my husband. They listen to him, are gentle with him, take him to his doctor’s appointments, and are very respectful. The office stays in touch, follow up, and ask really good questions because they want to be helpful.

We’ve only had an hour a week, and we’re going to increase it, so we’re counting on them. They work more like a family, not big corporate. They get back to you. They understand that each elderly person has different circumstances, and they’re willing to work with you.

We needed immediate but temporary home care due to mobility difficulties. My husband has mobility issues but I have been helping him and doing meal prep, laundry, bills and related. Suddenly and with no warning my mobility was challenged. We were able to get in-home help in 1 day. The care givers were fantastic! Both Shanteye and Karen offered competent services for us including meal prep, laundry and such simple things as getting the mail from the mailbox and emptying waste baskets. Because we may need their services in the future I discovered that they also are trained to do bed baths, help with dressing and similar physical health-related activities but they don’t give medications or do other “professional” health care. My sister and I have been navigating our Mom’s dementia/healthcare for the last several months. At the end of February 2025 Mom had just been discharged from the hospital and I had come up from my home in NC to visit her and help make her transition home. My stepfather ordered a number of assistive devices and assured us that he’d take care of Mom but, unfortunately, that did not happen. After several days of noncommunication, my stepfather consented to allow us to arrange a home health nurse to assist him 2-3 days/week. I called to get a listing of agencies and Home Helpers Home Care came up first in my search…and the agency name resonated with me.

I reached Catherine Dickson, VP of Operations, and found her to be incredibly helpful and understanding of my efforts to arrange home healthcare there on Long Island, despite me residing out-of-state. Moreover, I shared with Catherine that our Mom is extremely sensitive to the voice of an individual and needed a nurse with an extremely soothing/sensitive voice and demeanor. She arranged for Sarah Remy to begin that Monday morning, March 10th at 11AM, the day and time agreed upon by my stepfather. Shortly after 11 I received a call from Catherine who stated that when Sarah arrived at Mom’s residence, she was sitting in a urine/feces-soaked diaper/couch in a catatonic state and barely breathing and that they called 9-1-1! We were in shock that Mom was found in that state, but incredibly grateful to Sarah for her communication with her home office and for staying until EMS workers arrived at the apartment to transport Mom to the hospital. Several times that day, and several days, weeks, and months thereafter, Catherine has called to check on Mom’s status. I have been incredibly thankful for the level of service/care they provided on March 10th, as well as their willingness to provide assistance and/or information regarding care. It has been an emotional road the last few months as Mom fought for her life, but she is now in a rehabilitation center with a daily care that gives my sister and me a peace of mind. I cannot say enough to express our gratitude for the level of care and authenticity that the staff of Home Helper’s Home Care has provided even beyond that horrific day…they were lifesavers for our family…literally!

Helping with medications, housekeeping, meal prep and dealing with her oftentimes difficult demeanor, it was all done with a smile and “can do” attitude. Ursella even visited our mother in the hospital and was often at her bedside right up until she passed away. The most helpful part about the service is the lady that they sent me, she’s excellent. She assists her in any way she needs help. I like that they gave me a lot of options.

The caregivers are reliable and compassionate. They do light housework and prepare meals. She provides compassionate care while understanding and following the family’s recommendations for her care plan.

First, I think my caregiver, Jenn, is wonderful in every way possible. I recently requested if she could be considered for the special award program where her photo would be displayed. She is fun to talk to, great skills in the kitchen, fixed infinity problem, fixed installation of new printer, helped with installation of recent medical monitor, with a large family very knowledgeable about many things. One could not ask for more!

It gives us peace of mind while we are out of the house. We know he has helpful companionship and they are there just in case. My father developed great friendships with the caregivers. They help with getting my father up and prepared for the day, and ensured he was good to go with his medication and food. They made sure he lived in a clean environment and made his bed every night. I felt like when we needed something or an issue came up we were notified. They offered the right services, they followed the same care my sister and I would do so it was consistent. They were amazing, but they did have some caregivers who had to cancel at the last minute. Sometimes we did have a little late of a notice but it wasn’t really anything serious.

We really like the person they’ve sent to help with my mom. The manager is also very helpful. They clean for my mom, which means I don’t have to. The caregiver cleans and does laundry for my mom.
