Myriam Plonque Title Owner Bio Whether you need full-time assistance or just a little help a few hours a week, Home Helpers compassionate caregivers can be your solution. I’m Myriam Plonque and I opened this business because, I am highly passionate with helping others and making them comfortable in their homes while providing the best care that I would like to have for my family. Also, after 12 years in nursing, I saw an opportunity to meet a need for in-home care services in this community. At Home Helpers, we specialize in providing comprehensive home care for seniors, new mothers and individuals needing recuperative and continuing assistance to live safely and independently wherever they call home. We also offer Direct Link®, our proprietary line of 24/7 medical alert systems, including a fall sensor with GPS locator and an automated medication dispenser. Home Helpers’ compassionate caregivers offer services in Floral Park, Queens Village, Cambria Heights, Queens Village, Elmont, North Valley Stream, Franklin Square, West Hempstead, Lynbrook, East Rockaway and Malverne. Home Helpers offers free in-home consultations, does in-home safety assessments and works with each client to create a flexible, affordable care plan based on a person’s individual needs. Services offered include medication management and care management as well as respite care, meal preparation, laundry, light housekeeping, companionship and transportation. I started my nursing career in 2007 – I was a Licensed Practical Nurse for the first two years until I earned my Registered Nurse license. I also have a Master’s degree in Nursing Administration and Business Administration. While I was working as a beside nurse and a case manager, I would often go to people’s homes to help them with things like learning to change their bandages, but what I learned was, while I may have been there to care for the wound, I was also caring for the person. The time I was able to spend with those patients was incredibly valuable. Even having 30 minutes to make sure they were getting what they needed could make a huge difference and that work was fulfilling for me. I had been thinking about opening a healthcare business for a while, but it was that experience that led me to Home Helpers. Home Helpers is different because I am committed to having top-notch, compassionate caregivers who are truly concerned with each client’s individual needs. We aren’t there just to be there.
