Since the onset of COVID-19 in March, I have received a plethora of inquiries regarding in-home care for seniors and what it entails, especially as it pertains to their loved one’s vulnerability to the disease.
Our website clearly displays our Home Helpers® COVID-19 response, as well as a great deal of information about the types of services our caregivers safely provide. However, I know how important it is for family members to do their due diligence to investigate different home health agencies until they find the right fit, and that can mean speaking directly with a person on the phone, or having an in-person consultation.
When seeking an in-home care agency to handle the care-giving responsibilities for your loved one and those with disabilities, illness, or recovering from injury or surgery, it’s crucial you thoroughly research to prepare. There is so much to know about your prospective home care provider, but few things are as important as trustworthiness and transparency. In the interest of being as open as I can with our customers, here is a list of the questions you should ask…and my answers on behalf of Home Helpers®.
HOW SOON CAN YOU PLACE A CAREGIVER?
I can place a caregiver as soon as you need one. All I need to do is assess your situation, get an understanding of your needs, and then match a caregiver who can be there for you on day one. For those times when unexpected situations present themselves, I have the Rapid Care Response system for quick service.
ARE YOUR CAREGIVERS INSURED?
All Home Helpers® caregivers are insured and required to undergo a thorough background check. They are also properly screened to ensure seniors and their homes are fully-protected.
DOES YOUR IN-HOME CARE AGENCY CONDUCT BACKGROUND CHECKS ON YOUR EMPLOYEES?
Yes, each of the caregivers I employ must pass an extensive background check to work for my company.
ARE YOUR CAREGIVERS TRAINED TO HANDLE TOUGH CLIENTS? WHAT KIND OF TRAINING AND CONTINUING EDUCATION DOES THIS IN-HOME CARE AGENCY PROVIDE TO YOUR CAREGIVERS?
At Home Helpers® Clearwater, the caregivers are trained to handle anything. The detailed training curriculum and ongoing training make sure the caregivers are always fully prepared to assist their clients. We also offer Home Helpers® University, which provides ongoing training through courses and webinars, and offers caregivers the opportunity to earn certifications of Specialist, Expert, and Master, each of which differentiates certain skill-sets.
If you have additional questions, I am available and more than happy to schedule a FREE Consultation, at your convenience, to assess specific needs, and find the right caregiver and care-giving services for you or your loved one. Call me today for more information: 727.942.2539.
