The staff of Home Helpers Home Care of BuxMont and the Lehigh Valley were thrilled to participate in the Adopt a Family program with For Pete’s Sake Cancer Respite Foundation https://takeabreakfromcancer.org/. For young families going through the painful cancer journey, finances are tight, and everyday seems overwhelming, especially during the holidays. This year, we adopted a family in the Lehigh Valley and created a special Christmas for three young children and a single mom. We hope this makes life a little easier for this family, and brings joy during a difficult time. Pictured above are Lindsay Lerch and Patti Soisson, who were gathering the gifts for delivery today.

Home Helpers Home Care of the Lehigh Valley has been involved in the Lehigh Valley Aging in Place coalition for 10 years. Regional Manager, Maggie Dominici, and Client Care Coordinator and Field Support Nurse, Melony Horn, have long enjoyed playing an active role in the dance committee. For many years, they have sponsored the entertainment, giving gift baskets, baking cookies, and volunteering at the dance for set up, taking down and directly helping seniors throughout the event. Says Melony, “it is our very favorite event of the year and the turnout this year was 400+ people!” In the first photo, Maggie is on the right, and Melony the left. The event was hosted by the Fearless Fire Company in Allentown. PA.

The Lehigh Valley office of Home Helpers Home Care, in Bethlehem, Pa, hosted a Fall-Open-House to celebrate the contributions of our caregivers and administrative support staff. Employees were invited in for lunch and spent time getting to know their colleagues. We were delighted to welcome our caregivers. For those live-in caregivers on shift with their clients who could not attend, our on-call caregivers delivered to them.
Our client, DM, was escorted to the office with his caregivers and enjoyed lunch and the visit. His family was delighted to receive the photo and so happy to see his success.
Wonderful day for the LV team. Grateful to be together.

On May 10th, 2022, Maggie Dominici, Home Helpers’ Regional Manager for the Leigh Valley, presented an education program entitled “10 Warning Signs” to the Northampton Co. Area Agency on Aging for Citizens Advisory Council members.
Kellie A. Butsack, Associate Director Programs, Alzheimer’s Association Delaware Valley Chapter, had some enthusiastic comments to report.
After the program, two attendees approached Maggie to express interest in having Association programs presented for a local senior’s group they are involved with. A third attendee asked Maggie how to become a volunteer educator with the Association. I will be following up with that person all this week! This is how we expand our reach to more people in our communities who are impacted by Alzheimer’s and dementia.
THANK YOU, Maggie, for representing the Association and moving our mission needle forward!
Thank you all, for all you do every day… have a great week!
