“The support from Maggie and Home Helpers has been enlightening in our search for the best care for my Mother. No other agency that I met with offered to provide the same approach and dedication to understanding our needs. “

“Maggie, Mel and staff at Home Helpers,
Thank you so much for the many years you took care of our mother, and for all everyone did for her. She had a good life, but the last three years had been difficult for her. She is in a much better place. Again, I can’t express how much I’ve appreciated all of you, and what you did for her.”

“I was in crisis when my mom was released from rehab and required 24-hour care due to her dementia. My sister took a leave of absence to care for her, but could not stay due to her husband suddenly becoming very ill. That left me to cover all of the 24-hour care. I called Maggie and Home Helpers late on a Friday and she came to us on Monday with a plan of care and immediate coverage that evening! The staff that cared for my mom were professional, prompt and caring. Maggie and Home Helpers were life savers!”

“I was very reluctant to engage live-in care to help with my wife, who has advanced Alzheimer’s. Finally it became absolutely necessary to have assistance in our home, at all times. Having a live-in caregiver (with Home Helpers) has completely changed the quality of life both for my wife and for myself. It is much safer for my wife now, as the caregiver is aware of everything she is doing. My wife is also much happier as she has a companion and therefore can be involved in more activities. It also means I can now live a more normal life, and take care of day-to-day needs.
In sum, in a very difficult situation having live-in care has made our lives more manageable, safer and more enjoyable.”

“Our family would recommend Home Helpers as caring professionals who meet the needs of the client and the requests of the family. We were so grateful for all the complete care the helpers provided when we could not be there. They also went above what was needed to make sure every comfort was provided for our family member. Thank you Home Helpers!”

“I would like to say a personal thank you to Lenny Jankie. She goes up and beyond her caring. We are so grateful To have such a kind, thoughtful, caring person to help with our Mother and her needs. She is wonderful in communicating with me. I am very grateful for Home helpers and their service. Also, would like to extend my appreciation to Maggie. She is kind and thoughtful. She always has a listening ear and has gotten me through a few tearful moments. With so much gratitude and appreciation! Jen Brown”

“My first experience with Home Helpers was when my parents needed extra help around the house. I called five or six agencies and Home Helpers answered. This was a first indicator that they have a good system for responding to needs quickly. They take their work seriously and listen to what the needs are, and then they respond appropriately. After we had experienced Home Helpers for several months with a low level of assistance, there was a need for an intensive level of service very quickly and again Home Helpers responded. When that need passed, they just as quickly backed off.
Each of the people who come to assist are kind, compassionate, professional and skilled. They get to know the clients and respond to their needs. It’s a tricky thing to fit into someone else’s home and these people seem to have the right knack.”

“I have been using Home Helpers for both short- and long-term help for over 7 years. The caring from the staff has been extraordinary. The many different options of help make the company flexible, as needs change. The availability has run the gamut of help from a few partial days to 24.7 care. The encouragement received has made recuperation in my home a possibility, not a burden.
My family and I would recommend Home Helpers in a heartbeat!”

“Home Helpers came highly recommended when I needed continuous care for my daughter in 2019. After meeting Maggie and Melony and discussing the needs of the family which included my granddaughter, a caretaker was selected. During this process I realized Home Helpers was more than a business, but also a very special group of caring people.
Throughout the years, the agency has always put my daughter’s needs and personality first when selecting someone new. When a change in caretakers occurs, I receive a call from Maggie or Melony giving me background on the caretaker and the date and time of the transition. This process always occurs whether my daughter’s caretaker is taking a vacation, or it is a new placement. In addition, Maggie and Melony are at the home to facilitate a smooth transition for my daughter and remain involved even after a placement has occurred. They will call or visit to make sure things are running smoothly and sometimes bringing lunch for everyone to share. They make my daughter laugh and they bring joy into her world.
The angels who join our family treat my daughter with dignity and respect as they care for her daily. They are compassionate and caring when she is upset and rejoice with her when she is happy. As in most family units, there are ups and downs, but the angels navigate through these times. However, I know if I have any questions, problems, concerns or want advice, I can call Maggie or Melony, knowing they will listen, that I am being taken seriously and action will be taken.
Recently, my daughter’s caretaker had a medical emergency occur on a weekend. The staff responded immediately and put a temporary plan in place for my daughter’s care. They also remained in communication with me throughout the weekend. On Monday, Maggie and Melony called; they already had a live-in caretaker ready to transition for my daughter’s care.
The care, compassion and communication from the staff of Home Helpers have been apparent from the start. I see the happy face of my daughter and know she is being cared for, and all is well in her world. The philosophy and attitude of the company starts at the top. This was evident recently when the owner called expressing concern for my daughter, granddaughter, and the caretaker.
I am delighted with Home Helpers.”

“When my Dad was still in rehab we began to make plans to bring him home. We reached out to Home Helpers Home Care, who offered a walk-through to confirm the house was equipped to meet his limited needs. Professional support with love, kindness and tons of experience is what Home Helpers Home Care delivers. Look for skilled non-medical, kind, trained, bonded, licensed and insured caregivers who are vetted and super helpful. They are supported by an RN and a SW who are both super professional and experienced. I really cannot ask for a better team of people. They are like angels but never shield me from the nitty gritty details of caring for our loved one! 24-hour care is a big endeavor to contemplate! We work with the team and the caregivers to provide guidance and care to our parent. This collaboration is what makes the care run smoothly.
From the front office to the back-end all contacts with this company have been professional. If I have a difficult request I am heard and the truth is shared. I would strongly recommend Home Helpers Home Care!”

“I want to thank you very much for all your help and assistance with my father. It was not by chance that I saw you that day at the bank or at the House + Barn last month. God puts the right people in your life at the right time. I appreciate the many times you listened to my worries & concerns and helped find solutions or provide comforting words. Please let Mark in scheduling know how much I appreciate his help in finding the right caregiver. It was not an easy task for him. Thanks again for everything & the amazing job you do!”

“I have had the opportunity to use Home Helpers for my physical care and home support. I found them to be exceptional in all areas of my care. From the home consult and the selection of the home care giver, it was professional and seamless. The caregiver was proficient, prepared and proactive.
I felt no apprehension and was very comfortable in their care. Also, administratively Home Helpers has been extremely flexible and empathetic toward my wife and my situation. Coverage was never an issue and competent replacements were available when we needed them.
I would highly recommend this service for any and all home care services.”

“As you know, living with Alzheimer’s disease is a very complicated disease to face as both the loved one and the caregiver(s). After Barb moved in with me and Buddy last May, we were quite overwhelmed and had a lot to learn about the disease and how to best manage the effects it has on everyone involved.
When we were at a point where we could take a breath, we decided we needed help. That is where you and Home Helpers stepped in. Right from the start when you and your nurse came to our home to meet us, we knew Home Helpers would provide the support we needed. Your caregiving staff have been exemplary— caring, professional, enthusiastic, patient, punctual, creative, persistent, and anything else we needed them to be. I could not have asked for a better group.
I could always count on the scheduling staff to meet our needs with such grace. I was probably their “Oh no, not her again” client because I never had a consistent schedule, sometimes had last minute requests, and asked for odd times, but they always came through for me and Barb and made it seem effortless.
You, yourself, have provided me such wonderful support and advice along the way and that helped me get through some trying times and relieved much of my stress.
Although it is a difficult and heartbreaking thing to have to do, we will be moving Barb to a memory support facility where she will receive the additional care we are no longer able to provide at home, and where she will be safe and secure. Thanks to you and your staff, Barb was able to stay at home with us for much longer than we could have cared for her without your support. We are so grateful.
Thank you and your staff so much!”

“My parents used Home Helpers for many years. Their assistance allowed my parents to remain living independently for a longer period than would otherwise have been possible. They provided a variety of types of assistance. Some of the features that our family most appreciated were:
Their flexibility. They flexibly performed whatever tasks were requested, even ones that sound trivial but reduced frustration tremendously. This included things like re-setting electronic equipment so that it would function again, finding eyeglasses or other things that got misplaced, and much more. They also flexibly re-worked the schedule to accommodate doctor appointments or to add sessions on a temporary basis during an illness.
Their reliability. They never missed an appointment, they always got my parents to doctor appointments on time (and safely), they consistently performed the tasks that we requested.
Their consistency. To the extent possible, Home Helpers attempted to schedule the same caregiver for my parents each time. This familiarity simplified the situation and allowed the caregiver to build a relationship with my parents which made my parents feel more comfortable.
Their patience. They patiently responded to the many requests by the children to handle a specific issue that arose. They patiently worked with my mom.
Their communication. When we requested specific tasks or when they attended a doctor appointment with my mom, they reported back to us on the status and/or provided relevant information. In general, they made sure we were aware of changes in my parents’ conditions that they observed.
We greatly appreciated the support that Home Helpers of the Lehigh Valley provided to my parents. This support gave my parents a sense of comfort and confidence knowing that Home Helpers was there to respond when the children could not be. It allowed them to remain living independently longer.”

“I am writing to thank the Home Helpers for the competent and compassionate care your staff provided to my mother during her 3 years at Sterling HTS., and in particular over the final 2 months of her life. They helped to make her last years of life as comfortable as possible. In particular, Michelle Shoemaker, Cristina Kwant, and caregivers Anna Cracheck and Jasmin Montanez.”

“We can’t say enough good things about the Home Helpers at Sterling Heights. Their competent staff has provided a variety of valuable services to help our parents and our family throughout the last few years. Whether assisting with household tasks and errands or when crisis strikes and support is needed on short notice, they have really come through for us. Their employees are well trained, very capable, kind and caring. It gives us great peace of mind knowing our “extended family” of trusted helpers are available to provide back-up assistance and help us care for our loved ones.
After listening to a seminar about Home Helpers, I had occasion to need aides and called Home Helpers. I had no previous experience or need for such help. How comforting that the same two seminar leaders (the client care coordinator and the regional manager) came to set up my case. Their immediate response to, and detailed concern for, my needs were necessary and appreciated. The aides they sent were people I was content to have in my home to support me. Aides showed up on time and shifts were seamless. Should any glitch arise, the same two leaders were immediately there, either in person or on the phone, to quickly provide a solution. If in the future I have a need for home aides, I will definitely call Home Helpers and know that we already have a case history on file to hit the ground running.”

“There are no words to express my gratitude for the wonderful care Home Helpers provided my Mother for the past five years. The caregivers, nurses, and administration all worked together to cater to her needs. If it had not been for the care you provided, my Mother would have had to go to a nursing home. I feel you are the best, and most affordable company in our area.”

“I was very pleased and excited to hear the news that Margaret Kennedy was chosen as the Care Giver of the Month. Margaret has now been a part of our family for the past six months, taking care of my Aunt Mitzi who will be 97 in September and suffers from Alzheimer’s. She is bedridden due to severe spinal stenosis. I was originally very concerned about how my aunt would accept someone living in her house and taking care of her daily; someone she did not know. I don’t think it took any time at all for Mitzi to warm up to Margaret- and that is saying something! Mitzi doesn’t always know where she is or what is happening, but she regularly tells me how glad she is to have Margaret with her. We have been truly blessed with Margaret’s assignment to us. My mom’s name was Margaret so I knew from the start it was a sign from God, but never expected that he sent my family a true angel. Margaret is one of the most caring, kind, compassionate, selfless and hard-working people I have ever met. She is always happy and positive. My aunt just adores her and so does my family. She is someone who I and others should strive to be more like. Our most sincere and heartfelt congratulations to Margaret! She certainly deserves this recognition. To us, she is the Care Giver of the Day- Every Day! Congratulations Margaret! And thank you for everything you do and being such a special part of our lives.”

“We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude for the care that the Home Helpers Team provided for our loved one, Violet W. We feel strongly that without the care and concern of your staff, from both administrative and home health aides, Violet would not have had such a quick recovery. In this day and age, there are not many people who go above and beyond their duties. Although Violet’s care was somewhat challenging, your staff did everything possible to accommodate and overcome any obstacles in her care. It is important to mention that her caregiver was a most valuable asset to Violet’s total home care team. She is very organized, caring, patient and encouraging. We feel that she did an excellent job. It is also important to note that the schedule for care itself was challenging, and we do appreciate Pam as well as the staff for accommodating this need. Lauren went above and beyond in time spent and effort is given, which played an important part in Violet’s recovery. The entire Home Helpers Team provided us with peace of mind that in our absence Violet was being cared for as if she were a family member. Only as a result of this initial care, is it in the comfort and familiarity of her own home that she is able to continue recuperating independently. We strongly feel that this would not be the case had she been placed in a nursing home after her hospitalization. Please know that we are grateful and we would highly recommend your services to other families with similar needs.”

“I wanted to let you know something personally about our experience with you. You have a wonderful style for interacting with people in need — with warmth, concern, and willingness to educate us and answer every question with enormous patience. You made it sound like you were sharing important information — not like you haven’t told it to people a million times before. It’s hard to explain, but I wanted you to know that you have a genuine gift for your communication style. It was a significant part of the reasons that made us decide to go with Home Helpers. My husband and I have been in “social service” careers for a lot of years and we’re pretty sensitive to how people in organizations interact with clients. It’s refreshing to find someone like you who’s truly caring and willing to go the extra mile to help. I wanted to let you know this because I feel it’s important to acknowledge people when they do good things and make a contribution to someone’s life experience. Thanks for all of your help and concern. Keep up the good work!”

“I’m sorry to write that my father passed away tonight. I wanted to write to you to share how much we really valued the help that you all gave to my father and the special and unique gifts that each of his helpers brought each day and night.
Arlene was a great buddy to my dad, and showed him an enthusiastic friendship; she showed her experience and alertness when she sounded the alarm on my father’s status last Wednesday and got everyone moving. Christy showed up at all hours to lend a hand, her experience, and her empathy. Gina really helped our family through the last day with my father, and gently suggested ways to help him and us find comfort. Lee was so attentive and gentle with my father through difficult and uncomfortable nights. In a very short time, we came to rely on your help in a difficult time, and I just wanted to let you know how much we appreciated each of you.
Melony, thank you for checking in numerous times on my father’s health and giving us good advice. Maggie and the rest of the staff did a great job communicating how things work and keeping us informed throughout.
You all did a great job, and we are grateful for all your help.”

“My caregiver from Home Helpers will do everything I ask them to do and is top-notch. They have concern for me and I recognize their love and care.
I can’t think of a time when Home Helpers didn’t meet my expectations. I just love them, I don’t know if I can do without them, now that I’ve got them.
Home Helpers has outstanding caregivers and has taken great care of us.
My father’s needs are great, and I have to keep working. The service of Home Helpers makes my life easier. My father is a very cantankerous gentleman. My caregiver tolerates his mood swings and reads him really well. He knows when to talk to him and when he needs to be alone
Home Helpers eased my stress. They were my sunshine on a cloudy day. I know I can be at peace with Home Helpers. I could not do it without them”

“Our facility recently had a need for a Private Duty aide for a Memory Care resident that was having a tough time “transitioning”. After interviewing 2 agencies, the family chose Home Helpers of Bethlehem. I could not have had a more pleasant experience. Maggie and Melonie and their staff were “GREAT”! Professional from beginning to end of service. The caregiver they sent “Alice” was very caring and patient with our resident. To my surprise, after the first night, a Supervisor was sent to see how things were going and she even had breakfast with our resident. I would highly recommend their services if you want a caring Agency that’s professional and wonderful to deal with.”
