Meet Community Warrior, Aida Norton-Polanco, Mortellaro Law

Author: Debbie Humphrey

Now that I have introduced myself and three of my Community Warrior Power Partners, Cathy Forrisse with Family Home Health Care; Amber Geier with Pineapple Placements; and Janeen Salzberger with Pathfinders Downsizing; it is time for my final Power Partner introduction, our Elder Law connection, Aida Norton-Polanco, Community Liaison with Mortellaro Law.

Aida Norton-Polanco, Community Liaison, Mortellaro Law

Aida became a Community Warrior Power Partner because she, like the rest of us, has a huge heart and a strong passion for helping seniors. Aida explained that being in a group of empowered women making a difference by bringing their own expertise to the table is a means for all of us to become more knowledgeable and as a result, better human beings.

As a successful community liaison for an Elder Law firm, Aida has a clear understanding about the needs of seniors, especially when it comes to the benefits they deserve.

“As people age, they often find themselves in need of care; and the money to pay for it. Our elder law division helps seniors through the complicated task of obtaining and coordinating county, state, and federal benefits to provide and pay for this care. We have successfully obtained these benefits for thousands of seniors, many of whom were told they were over income or over assets to qualify,” Aida said.

Mortellaro Law is the highest rated Elder Law Firm in the state of Florida. Aida and the team of lawyers with who she works take pride in helping our senior community in the following areas:

  • Traditional Estate Planning-wills, trusts, powers of attorney, etc
  • VA Benefits-Aid and Attendance
  • Medicaid Asset Protection
  • Probate

Aida continued, “We take pride in treating our seniors and their families with respect and compassion. Our founder Michelangelo Mortellaro has the ability of explaining very complex concepts in layman’s terms we can all understand. Arrogance and a condescending attitude isn’t part of our culture. Our consultations are always free, and as Michelangelo frequently says: ‘If I can’t help someone, I have not earned any money.’”

I strongly advise seniors to seek legal assistance for elders through Aida, because she can provide guidance to you or your Power of Attorney, and connect you with an expert Elder Law Attorney who can advise and counsel you about your legal rights, your last will and testament, your finances, investments and trusts, your care in the event of serious illness, hospitalization or incapacitation, and so much more. I encourage you to visit the Mortellaro Law website, or call 813.367.1500, for more information.

Community Warriors Give Back

On the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, November 23rd, the Power Partners and I will bring pies to all of the employees at Addington Place Assisted Living Community in Tarpon Springs, during their shift change, as our way of saying thanks for their hard work and service to seniors.

Aida said it best, “(I) love that we are helping our community of seniors, as well as those who serve them.”
