Christine has been supporting Nina and Nick, who have been married for 57 years, by providing dependable, compassionate care tailored to their needs. One of Christine’s main responsibilities is providing Nina safe transportation to and from her many medical appointments, some of which are quite a distance away. Christine ensures that Nina not only gets to every appointment safely but stays with her throughout the visit, offering support, conversation, and even snacks if needed.

Coordinating those appointments takes persistence and care. When Nina faced delays in getting tests scheduled, Christine didn’t give up. She called consistently until the appointments were secured. In one case, when important paperwork failed to arrive from a doctor’s office, Christine went and picked it up herself — ensuring Nina’s care stayed on track.

Christine also helps manage Nina’s calendar in a way that empowers her. She writes everything down — and encourages Nina to do the same — so that Nina feels informed and in control. It’s a small detail, but one that reflects Christine’s commitment to preserving dignity and autonomy in every way possible.

While many of Christine’s days revolve around appointments or errands, she’s also tuned into the emotional and social well-being of her clients. When they go shopping, for example, it’s more than checking off a to-do list. It’s an opportunity for Nina to move around, smile, and feel engaged. She tends to walk faster in stores, eager to pick out something special for her husband or simply enjoy the atmosphere. Christine recognizes those moments as essential — they’re a form of physical activity, joy, and normalcy.

Christine also seamlessly fits into her clients’ routines without being intrusive. She’s attentive and helpful in the home, anticipating what might need to be done, whether that’s vacuuming the living room or making sure Nick has space in the kitchen. She does it with quiet confidence, always focused on being helpful and not disruptive.

Even the family dog, Birdie, lights up when Christine arrives. She follows her around, happy to have her in the home, a testament to how welcomed and trusted Christine is by everyone in the household, pets included.
