Address Where Care is Needed

As summer winds down, our commitment to serving seniors and their families continues to grow stronger.

This month, we’re excited to share helpful resources, inspiring stories, community updates, and the many ways we’re making a difference every day.

We’re also expanding our outreach within the community by building stronger partnerships, educating families about available home care options, and connecting more seniors with the support they deserve.

Together, we can help more older adults remain independent, healthy, and engaged while giving their loved ones the peace of mind they need.

Compassion in Action, Care That Feels Like Family.

A smiling caregiver in blue scrubs gently touches the shoulder of an elderly woman sitting on a couch. Both are smiling and making eye contact in a cozy, well-lit living room.

Veterans Home Care

We are honored to support Veterans and surviving spouses with compassionate, dependable care in the comfort of home. As a VA-credentialed provider, we offer personalized assistance with daily activities, companionship, meals, medication reminders, transportation, housekeeping, and respite care. If you or a loved one may qualify for VA benefits such as Aid & Attendance, our team is here to help you take the next step.

A Wonderful Day of Connection at Our Open House!

We were delighted to welcome our valued care partners to our Thousand Oaks office for an afternoon of networking, collaboration, and meaningful conversations. Together, we’re building stronger partnerships to ensure seniors and their families receive the compassionate, high-quality care they deserve.

More Than a Caregiverโ€”Finding the Right Fit

A smiling woman with short blonde hair and glasses wears a green Home Helpers Home Care shirt and white undershirt, standing in front of a plain white background.

When families search for home care, they look for someone qualified, dependable, and experienced. While these qualities are essential, truly exceptional care also depends on finding the right match. At Home Helpers, we believe caregiving is built on understanding each clientโ€™s unique personality, lifestyle, interests, and routine.

Our goal isnโ€™t simply to assign a caregiver, but to create a relationship built on trust, respect, and genuine companionship. When the right caregiver is matched with a client, they build trust, become familiar with the clientโ€™s routine, and help families feel confident knowing their loved one is well cared for. That thoughtful connection makes a meaningful difference in the quality of care we provide.

The right relationship benefits caregivers, too, allowing them to build meaningful connections, understand preferences, anticipate needs, and provide care that feels personal. Itโ€™s why we often hear families say, โ€œShe feels like part of the family.โ€

Our own Lisa Ilomin, honored as the National Home Helpers Caregiver of the Year, is a wonderful example. Her client, Carol, shared that Lisa had become โ€œpart of the familyโ€โ€”a reflection of the compassion and connection we strive to build across our entire team.

Finding the right caregiver takes careful listening, thoughtful planning, and understanding that every person deserves personalized care. At Home Helpers, we believe outstanding care begins with the right relationshipโ€”when the fit is right, clients feel understood, families gain peace of mind, and caregivers can make a lasting difference. Thatโ€™s what we call Care That Goes Beyond the Taskโ€”care that feels like family.
