CEO and Co-Owner
We are Dr. Bonnie Bain and Livingston Bain, the husband-and-wife team behind Home Helpers® Home Care of North Shore, MA. As caregivers, parents, and healthcare and business leaders, we understand firsthand how important it is to find dependable, compassionate support for the people you love. Our family’s experiences navigating complicated pregnancies, caring for our son with significant support needs, and supporting aging parents have shaped our understanding of what families need during life’s most challenging moments.
We have called the North Shore home for nearly 30 years and we’re proud to bring a personal, hands-on approach to serving our community. We believe families deserve more than a care provider; they deserve a trusted partner who listens, understands their circumstances, and treats their loved ones with dignity and respect.
I bring nearly three decades of experience in healthcare and life sciences to my work at Home Helpers® Home Care. I earned my doctorate from Purdue University, completed postdoctoral training at the University of Miami School of Medicine, and have held executive and board leadership roles. My professional background shapes my commitment to high standards, accountability, and thoughtful, individualized care.
As a wife, mother, and caregiver, I understand the trust families place in those who enter their homes. I believe the best care begins with listening and understanding each family’s unique circumstances. My goal is to help ensure every client feels safe, respected, and genuinely cared for while providing families with the dependable support they need.
My career has spanned nearly three decades in operations and executive leadership across the defense and telecommunications industries. Leading complex, mission-critical operations taught me the importance of precision, accountability, reliability, and well-designed processes. At Home Helpers® Home Care, I apply that same approach to supporting our caregiving team, strengthening quality oversight, and helping ensure families receive consistent, dependable care.
My graduate education includes an MBA from the University of Massachusetts and master’s degrees from Purdue University and Johns Hopkins University. My perspective is also shaped by my experience as the primary caregiver for our disabled son. Through that experience, I’ve learned firsthand the patience, dedication, and trust required to support someone you love. I apply those lessons to my work with our caregiving team and am committed to building an agency where caregivers feel valued and supported, and where families can feel confident in the people caring for their loved ones.
Home Helpers Home Care offers its comprehensive Cared-4℠ program, which supports clients in four key areas: Personal Care and Companionship, Meal Planning, 24/7 Emergency Response, and Wellness Calls. Eligible clients also receive a complimentary fall detection device, providing an additional layer of support and peace of mind.
As owners, we’re personally committed to building meaningful relationships with clients, families, and caregivers. Our goal is to provide dependable care tailored to individual needs while creating a supportive environment where caregivers feel valued, respected, and equipped to provide compassionate care.
