I previously used another firm but was not pleased with the quality of the caregivers they sent to my house. After a recent stay in the hospital for a broken arm and ribs that I suffered from a fall, I decided to switch agencies. My care manager suggested that we try Home Helpers of North San Diego County. What a difference from the previous firm. The caregiver they found for me is a great fit personality-wise, and I love the breakfasts and lunches she has prepared for me. I wish I would have found Home Helpers a year earlier.  

I arrived at my mother’s house for a visit to find her in deteriorating health that resulted in a 7-day stay in the hospital. I found Home Helpers of North San Diego County from their website. They were on top of everything and helped me through the whole process including how to get the most help from hospital staff, assistance with finding the correct transitional facility and helping me understand my mother’s long-term care insurance policy. If they didn’t know the answer they put me in touch with someone who did. It was more or less one-stop shopping. All these side services were provided professionally without charge. Once my mother was home they then provided their caregiver team. Their caregivers have all been of the highest quality and very compassionate I can’t say enough about how good they are. I went back to Seattle knowing my mother was well cared for. Home Helpers of North San Diego County have really made my life easier.  

I just want to let you know how much I appreciate Home Helpers of North San Diego. The care your company provided for my mom during the last two years was invaluable. The caregivers she had were knowledgeable and compassionate. It meant a lot to us that she was able to develop relationships with them, and it meant a lot to me to have peace of mind knowing she was in good hands. I also appreciate the fact that the Home Helpers office staff was available 24/7. They were accessible and very responsive to situations and needs that came up. It was also important that the staff was reliable and if the assigned caregiver couldn’t make their shift the staff always found a suitable replacement. I could always count on someone being here! The thing that most impressed me was the time that I was out of town and my mom needed to go to the hospital. The owner of Home Helpers came and stayed with my mom for several hours until my daughter could arrive. Home Helpers always went well beyond what was expected! If we ever need in-home care for a family member again there is only one number we will call!  

We found Home Helpers of North San Diego through a recommendation from our church office. They told us that some other members of our church had used them and were very satisfied with the care they received. We used three different caregivers during the two months dad needed care and each one was excellent. The communication from the Home Helpers office and owner was impeccable. The caregivers were polite, friendly, experienced, punctual, and reliable. Without them, my sister and I would have gotten very little sleep during the worst of times. We grew to see the owner and the three caregivers assigned as friends and able to provide us with support that went way beyond what was expected. Our family can’t thank them enough!  

I suffered a serious fall and needed more help than my family could provide. I found Home Helpers through a referral from my church. They installed a PERS unit that could monitor falls. They also provided a caregiver that helped me in the morning several days per week. She was great and could do many tasks that helped me get better. After three months, I improved to the point where I no longer required the caregiver service. However, should I ever need help in the future I’m only calling Home Helpers of North San Diego County.  

I first called Home Helpers & Direct Link to get a fall monitor after my new pacemaker was installed. I was weak and unsteady on my feet and my family was concerned about me being alone in my house. The owner of Home Helpers of North San Diego County came to my house and personally installed the unit himself. He demonstrated how it worked and I was able to talk to the customer service personnel back at their call center in Ohio. It worked perfectly and gave my family and I great peace of mind. I’ve improved from those first days back from the hospital but realized that I needed more help to be able to be independent in my home. I called Home Helpers and they developed a Monday through Friday care plan that both met my budget and allowed me to be confident that I could remain in my home. The caregiver I have is absolutely the best. Home Helpers has treated me like an extension of their family. I’m truly grateful for the excellent care I’m receiving.
