After working for ten years helping local business owners open and grow their business, I decided it was time for me to enter the world of entrepreneurship. I investigated various opportunities such as realty, digital marketing & advertising, various franchises, retail and finally found Home Helpers. Having been a Certified Nursing Assistant when I was younger and having worked in some form of healthcare since 1985, I felt Home Helpers would help me realize my business objectives. Those objectives were and still are focused on making a difference in my community and in my state. I love West Virginia and I love the people of our state. I thought to myself, how could I help them best? I thought that if I could give them a job, in fact, give lots of people a job, I could, in essence, make a difference in their life, the life of their families, the local community and ultimately my state. When people have a job, they contribute to the local economy, the tax base and improve life for all of us.
I began my first job in the healthcare field in 1985 when I accepted a position in a Hagerstown nursing home and earned the designation of Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). I soon learned that I enjoyed working with seniors and in healthcare in general. This path took me many directions to include working at our local hospice for five years and last managing a healthcare staffing company in Baltimore, MD where I negotiated staffing contracts with hospitals throughout Baltimore, Philadelphia, Richmond and all points in between. I assisted in staffing hospitals throughout the entire US and assisted with international recruiting of allied health professionals. As I moved back to West Virginia and that position was not workable from WV, I found a position as a digital marketing, advertising executive. I quickly became an expert in the field of search engine marketing and optimization. I was responsible for helping over 400 local business owners start and expand their business. During this position, I returned to college to earn an Associates Degree in Business Administration. Eventually, burnout set in and I sought a way to make a difference and found Home Helpers.
I was born in Martinsburg and grew up in Charles Town. I’m married to Brian Fausey and we also own American Pest Control. LLC. Brian is originally from Pennsylvania but having served 20 years in the Army, has lived around the world. Together, we have a blended family of six children all grown and thirteen total grandchildren. We also have three dachshunds. Because of our military connection, we strive to serve the Veteran Community and are the local leader in helping Veterans and their spouses apply for the Pension Aid & Attendant Benefit to help cover the costs of home care. We also support several local charities.
