My mother has always been an inspiration to me, especially when it came to work. She’s the most compassionate and dedicated caregiver I’ve ever met and I knew I wanted a job that empowered me to have the kind of positive impact she’s had throughout her career. I’m Bana Solomon, the owner of Home Helpers and Direct Link of Santa Rosa, and I’m excited that my business gives me the opportunity to fulfill that dream. I’ve always had a passion for elderly care and I understand that many older adults do not want to leave their homes or transition into an elderly home as their needs change. It’s more comfortable – and often more convenient – if those services can be offered at their homes instead. Through proper training, a careful selection of caregivers and an ongoing effort to match the right clients and caregivers, we can cater to the unique physical, emotional and spiritual needs of each client. Everyone deserves to be in the comfort of their own homes regardless of their age or condition and our goal is to make sure we are making our client’s and client’s family’s lives easier. Prior to opening this business, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Health Science Administration and Management from California State University, East Bay. I interned through Kaiser Permanente where I implemented preventative care apps, which focused on preventative care for the elderly. I also interned at Highland Hospital as a health advocate for the community patients. Home Helpers specializes in comprehensive home care for seniors, new mothers and individuals needing recuperative and continuing assistance with personal care services such as grooming, bathing, ambulation, medication management and care management as well as respite care, meal preparation, laundry, light housekeeping, companionship and transportation assistance. Direct Link is our proprietary line of 24/7 medical alert systems, including a fall sensor and an automated medication dispenser. Our full suite of services gives clients the opportunity to live healthier and more rewarding lives in the privacy, safety and comfort of their own homes. -Bana Solomon
