I believe the best place for seniors – and anyone needing recuperative care – is wherever they call home and sometimes that means accepting a little help. I’m Brandy Broadbent, the local owner of Home Helpers Home Care of Rochester, and I’d like to provide that help to keep people living independently by providing services like light housework, companionship, nutrition planning, walks, trips to see doctors, wellness calls and more.

Home Helpers Home Care is unique because of our comprehensive approach to care. Our system is
called Cared-4 SM , which provides the four necessary components to living independently. This
includes Personal Care and Companionship, Nutrition and Meal Planning, 24/7 Emergency
Monitoring, and Wellness Calls to help ensure medications and hydration are maintained.

I grew up in Oklahoma and decided to attend the Air Force Academy out of a desire to serve our incredible nation. After graduating from the Academy, I spent ten years flying helicopters, which included multiple deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan flying combat search and rescue missions.

Following my career in the Air Force, I looked for ways to give back to my community. First as a teacher, substituting in all grade levels and subjects in Nevada and Florida. Upon moving to Michigan, I earned my PhD in biomedical engineering from Wayne State University which prepared me to teach biochemistry at Oakland University before transitioning to becoming a commercial application scientist.

I’ve lived in Rochester for more than a decade and I decided I wanted to serve my community closer to home. My parents, who live in Cincinnati, are getting older and our family is dispersed all over the country. I know my parents want to age in place and, to do that, they will eventually need some kind of in-home care. That helped me realize that I could offer those kinds of services here in my own community.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my two girls, Mikayla and Elise. I love watching them grow and discover their own dreams and passions. I am also a huge proponent of fitness and regularly attend CrossFit classes and go rock climbing.
