Caregiver Questions

QUESTIONS YOU SHOULD ASK WHEN RESEARCHING HOME CARE AGENCIES & PRIVATE DUTY HOME CARE PROVIDERS:

Q: Does a REGISTERED NURSE come to your home to better understand your needs?

A: We do. We lead with quality. An RN is charged with care consults, care planning, and “rounding” for EVERY client. This policy is unique to our service model.

Q: Does the company perform BACKGROUND CHECKS and DRUG TESTING on all their caregiver employees?

A: We do. We perform a 7-year state and national criminal background check, pre-employment and random drug testing, and we validate employee driving records with the Wisconsin Department of Motor Vehicles.

Q: Does the company have a FORMAL TRAINING CURRICULUM including specialized disease state training?

A: We do. Together, they conduct new hire orientation training and periodic all-staff training. We also invite subject matter experts to address our staff on issues of critical importance.

Q: Does the company use caregiver EMPLOYEES instead of private contractors?

A: We do. As an employer, we handle workers’ compensation insurance and both state and federal taxes. We take responsibility for these important details so you don’t need to worry.
