Whether you’re looking for care for yourself or a loved one, thank you for considering Home Helpers Home Care. I’m Gene Hoffman, the local owner of Home Helpers in South Mississippi.
In 2011, I was diagnosed with late-stage Hodgkin’s lymphoma. I’ve been lucky enough to have family to help me during that fight, but it also has shown me how critical that help can be.
If you don’t have loved ones nearby – or they aren’t able to provide the care you need when you need it – having the right professional caregiver can be lifesaving. I saw the need for those services here in my community, which drew me to Home Helpers.
Home Helpers is different because of our personal touch and high-quality caregivers. We go out of our way to make sure every client is paired with the perfect caregiver because we know that connection makes a huge difference.

This includes Personal Care & Companionship, Nutrition & Meal Planning, 24/7 Emergency Response and Wellness Calls to help ensure medications and hydration are maintained.
I have lived on the Gulf Coat my entire life – I grew up in New Orleans and moved to Mississippi in 2002. I started working as an attorney in 1998 and have worked mostly in real estate and probate, which has given me insight into the challenges older adults and families face. At this point in my career and my life, I feel called to help people by providing them with the ability to be independent for as long as possible.
My team also will perform an in-home safety assessment before start of care and all staff members are following strict CDC guidelines to protect clients during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition to planning, directing and managing the overall operations of our services, my goal is to ensure a team of high-quality caregivers that provide the best care possible to our clients.
Being a part of the local Home Helpers Team is a personal endeavor and is very near to my heart. In 2018, I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, which made me realize the importance of being blessed to have a major support team of family and friends to help me during difficult times, but it also has shown me how vital that help can be. Having the right professional caregiver can be lifesaving. I realize that not everyone is as fortunate as I have been when it comes to having loved ones nearby – or they aren’t able to provide the care you need when you need it – having the right professional caregiver can be lifesaving. Free in-home consultations to help determine the right care for your loved ones will be provided.
