Everyone wants to be safe, comfortable and independent wherever they call home, but sometimes – especially as we age – that requires some extra support. At Home Helpers Home Care, offering that support is exactly what we do.

We are Joshua and Jillian Kitterman, the local owners of Home Helpers Home Care here in East Peoria, and we launched this business because we saw an opportunity to fill the gap between living independently and needing full-time, on-site care. We know family can’t always be there, so we want to be your extended family.

At Home Helpers, we offer the industry’s leading model for comprehensive care with our unique care program, Cared-4SM, which provides the four necessary components to living independently. This includes Personal Care and Companionship, Nutrition and Meal Planning, 24/7 Emergency Response, and Wellness Calls to help ensure medications and hydration are maintained. Home Helpers is unique because we consider all of the needs of each individual – from helping with meals to offering monitoring services to providing in-home care. Whatever your needs are, we can customize a solution to help you stay safe, comfortable and independent and then adjust that plan as your needs change.

We have a long history with caregivers and in-home care. Joshua’s mother was a caregiver after retirement and Jillian’s mom owns Home Helpers Home Care in Bourbonnais. Jillian also worked for her mom while she was earning her Bachelors of Public Health and her Bachelors of Nursing. Joshua has a Bachelors in Aviation Technology and worked in multiple management roles for BNSF Railway before Home Helpers. We are looking forward to continuing our family’s tradition of care with Home Helpers Home Care here in East Peoria.

Our team works in East Peoria, including Peoria, Peoria Heights, Washington, Eureka, Deer Creek, Mackinaw, Goodfield and the surrounding areas. We are looking forward to meeting you and pairing you with a well-trained, compassionate and trustworthy caregiver to help you thrive in this next stage of life.

From a young age Mikayla knew she wanted to be in healthcare one way or another. She’s always had a passion for helping people and wanting to make their lives easier. Once she turned 16, she started working with seniors in an assisted living facility before gravitating to a DSP position working with adults with disabilities in a group home setting.

While working Mikayla attended ICC and obtained her EMT certification and later went on to become an RBT working with children on the autism spectrum. Throughout her work experience, she has gained so much knowledge in providing the most efficient care to many different demographics.

Her career goals have always been to do something where she could help people while also providing a positive change in their life. She has found this with Home Helpers Home Care.
