Address Where Care is Needed

Senior Care Options Across Chester & Lancaster Counties

Life can become more challenging as we grow older, and it’s often best to face those challenges in a familiar setting close to family and friends. That’s why our locally owned Home Helpers® office serves families throughout Chester and Lancaster counties, helping older adults maintain their independence at home. Our Cared‑4℠ program addresses the four key areas of care—companionship and personal care, nutrition and wellbeing, safety and emergency monitoring and wellness calls—to give families peace of mind. Every client receives a customized care plan that can adjust as needs change, and support can range from a few hours each week to 24‑hour assistance.

What We Offer

We provide an array of services to meet different needs. In the realm of personal care and companionship, our caregivers assist with bathing, grooming, mobility, medication reminders and friendly companionship. Homemaker services include light housekeeping, laundry and meal preparation, while the Wake‑Up and Tuck‑In program offers help at the start and end of the day. For clients requiring more oversight, 24‑hour home care and safety monitoring keep loved ones secure around the clock, and our team can manage multiple medications and coordinate wellness calls. On the nutrition side, we offer caregiver meal prep and can arrange chef‑prepared meals through our Silver Cuisine program. We also provide specialized care for conditions such as Alzheimer’s and dementia, recuperative care after surgery or illness, respite care for family caregivers and support during stroke recovery.

How We Hire and Train Caregivers

Inviting someone into your home requires trust. Pennsylvania regulations help ensure that trust by requiring all home‑care agencies to be licensed and to perform criminal background checks on caregivers, administrators and owners. Caregivers must also be screened for tuberculosis before providing services and undergo annual re‑screenings. Beyond these legal requirements, we hire only compassionate people who pass our rigorous interview process and reference checks. Each caregiver receives professional training and continuing education—covering confidentiality, infection control, emergency procedures and personal‑care skills—to meet state competency standards. They are insured and supported by our virtual education for ongoing learning.

Local Owners You Can Trust

Our agency is independently owned and operated by sisters‑in‑law Kim Kokolus and Margo Hughes, who live and raise their families in this community. Kim brings 15 years of experience leading high‑performing teams and is passionate about client and caregiver outreach. Margo is a CPA with extensive financial and accounting experience and oversees the business’s financial operations and caregiver leadership. Together they are committed to providing a personal touch; Kim often attends initial in‑home assessments to listen to families and craft a plan that meets everyone’s needs.
