For all of us, 2020 has been a difficult year in many ways as we have to cope with the continuing global pandemic. This is especially true for our aging population, who not only are more susceptible to contracting COVID-19 but are also forced to self-quarantine more often as a result. These extended periods of isolation, coupled with typical day-to-day struggles and life during a pandemic, can take a toll on anyone’s mental health. In mid-July alone it was reported that 53% of adults in the United States felt their mental health had been negatively impacted as a result of COVID-19.
