Megan Van Diest has always had a passion and warmth for helping people – she was a caregiver for her grandmother, helped with the care of her father during a terminal illness and then went on to start her own home services independently when she saw a need in her community. Now she’s looking forward to putting those experiences and her unique ability to cultivate strong relationships to work starting her new local business – Home Helpers Home Care. Their team will serve families throughout the Whatcom and Skagit county areas.
“I knew I always wanted to care for people. Originally, I thought I wanted to be a doctor, but as life evolved, I found myself caring for people in a different way. As that passion has continued to grow and cleaning jobs were evolving into caregiving jobs, I started to see my path with clarity and realized I could make a large positive impact on the people in need in our community by bringing Home Helpers Home Care to Bellingham. We’re looking forward to making that dream a reality,” Megan said.
Home Helpers Home Care offers the industry’s leading model for comprehensive care with its unique care program, Cared-4SM, which provides the four necessary components to living independently. This includes Personal Care and Companionship, Nutrition and Meal Planning, 24/7 Emergency Response, and Wellness Calls to help ensure medications and hydration are maintained.
“When I would clean houses to help people, I found that many of my clients were asking me to do more caregiving-like work because they trusted me. My team is going to work to improve quality of life for our clients. Home is where the heart is, so keeping our clients in their home happily and safely is our main goal. Home Helpers is going to be different because of the caliber of our caregivers and our commitment to building those deep relationships with our clients and families. This business is close to my heart and I will do whatever it takes to offer the best care in Northern Washington,” Megan said.
Families looking for dependable, in-home care by employees who are fully trained, background checked, and insured can call Home Helpers for a free in-home consultation and safety assessment to help determine the right care for their loved ones.
“We are going to dig in, work with you to put together a care plan that best suits your needs, pair you with the right caregiver and raise the bar in what ‘care’ actually means. We trust all of our caregivers to treat our clients just like we would treat our own loved ones,” Megan said.
