    ADRIANE AND AARON NELSON

    Owner

Home Helpers of Appleton and the Fox Cities is the vision of owners, Adriane and Aaron Nelson, who developed a passion for helping others when Aaron unexpectedly had to find care for his grandmother. Recognizing the care needs and resources available to families could be better met, Aaron and Adriane decided to start their Home Helpers agency in 2008.

Living in the Fox Cities of Wisconsin presents opportunities and challenges for people needing home and transitional care. The opportunity recover and be cared for at home is the preference of the vast majority of people in our community, and there are numerous resources and services now available that allow home care to happen. The challenge is and will most likely continue to be, how to accomplish care and recovery at home with families spread out geographically or busy in their own lives, cost of living increases and increased life expectancy.

As the owners of a home care agency, it is our privilege every day to meet and be a resource to families throughout the Fox Cities of Wisconsin.

    Scheduler

My name is Dezarie Casillas, I have been married for 8 years now to the love of my life and we have two handsome young men who are six and eleven. I started with Home Helpers in July of 2021 as a full-time caregiver. It took me sometime to really find my calling for I have not always been in the care field, but I finally found my home. For 10 years I dominated the culinary industry, starting as a busser when I was a teenager to being presented my first set of whites (chef coat) at 18 years old. I grew up watching the struggles my grandfather endured over the years trying to take care of my grandmother on his own after the Leukemia, Dementia and Parkinsons took over her body. Slowly for 14 years I watched as she got worse and worse until the day Hospice had to be called in and she passed not too long after. Whenever I wasn’t in school I was at their home, helping them in any way I could just to give my grandfather a break. I loved what I did as a chef, but I wanted to do more for people then just feed them and all I could think of was how happy I was to help my grandfather, so why not do that every day? And that’s how I ended up at Home Helpers.

As a chef I learned how important it is to pour my heart and soul into everything I do which has taken me very far here with Home Helpers. In the spring of 2022 I was promoted to Lead Caregiver, then to Care Specialist by the summer and now into Scheduling in the middle of August. My goal every day is to find the best fit for both caregiver and client to help create those special moments for everyone. Having the pleasure to spend time with most of our clients here in Southeastern Wisconsin I feel gives me the benefit of matching the perfect caregivers to fit our client’s needs. I look forward to growing with Home Helpers and look forward to continuing to make those unforgettable bonds between our clients and caregiver.

    Scheduler

Hi, I’m Glenda. I have more than 15 years of caregiving experience in several different settings. During those years I have also taken on different management and administrative responsibilities but have always remained active in getting to know and caring for my clients. I always say that a person is either born a caregiver, or they are not. I was, without a doubt born a caregiver.

I began my adventure with Home Helpers in 2021 as a caregiver. In 2022 I took on the role of Executive Assistant (and interim Operations Manager for a few months) in the Northeast office. I have recently taken on the role of Scheduler and with it, the privilege of working from my home.

I look forward to growing with Home Helpers in this new role. I believe that my experience as a caregiver offers me an advantage of true empathy and understanding for our caregivers, clients, and their families. My hope is that everyone I work with always feels appreciated, heard, and understood.
