I had a great start to my day today, meeting Bob Saunders, president of the North Central Chamber of Commerce, and Ann Barowsky who, like me, is a member of the Chamber’s board. The Chamber delivered gloves, mittens, scarves, hats, coats, and other winter apparel, collected in the “Warming Hands, Warming Hearts” campaign to the Network Against Domestic Abuse, in Enfield.
At Home Helpers Home Care in Enfield (covering North Central CT and Western MA) we are proud of being engaged members of our community.
That's why it is important for me to be a member of the Chamber of Commerce. The Warming Hands, Warming Hearts drive collected over 5 thousand items that are being handed out to children and teenagers who live in foster care or group homes.
This is the third year the event is organized and the first time the North Central Chamber participates. Other participants were the Tolland County, Greater Manchester, South Windsor, and Connecticut River Valley Chambers of Commerce.
The drive happened on January 11, at Georgina's Restaurant in Bolton and was sponsored by United Bank, which donated $2,500 for fuel assistance.
It feels good to know that, besides managing a company that provides quality senior care in Enfield and North Central CT, we are also engaged in this Chamber initiative to help families to stay warm this winter.
