Stepping Up When It Mattered Most

When the recent blizzard swept through St. Louis, it brought severe road conditions, unsafe travel, and widespread disruptions. For many, it meant staying home and waiting out the storm. But for one of our bedbound clients who requires around-the-clock care, staying home alone was not an option.

Jolanna understood the seriousness of the situation immediately.

Knowing her client’s safety and well-being depended on consistent care, Jolanna made the selfless decision to remain on shift — ultimately staying for an incredible 36 consecutive hours to ensure her client was safe, comfortable, and fully cared for throughout the storm. Her willingness to sacrifice her own comfort and personal time demonstrates the true heart of a caregiver.

Going Above and Beyond — In Every Way

Jolanna’s dedication didn’t stop at providing exceptional hands-on care inside the home. When the storm left the driveway buried in snow, she took it upon herself to shovel it — ensuring that emergency access was possible if needed and helping prepare the home for safe transitions once road conditions improved.

This act speaks volumes about Jolanna’s character. She doesn’t just complete tasks — she anticipates needs, takes initiative, and treats her client’s home with the same care and responsibility as she would her own family’s.
