When you’re looking for someone to help you live independently or you have a loved one in need of in-home care, it can be challenging to sort through the options. We’re Edward and Geitta Hawkins, the local owners of Home Helpers in Southeast Jacksonville, and we are here to help.
At Home Helpers, we specialize in providing comprehensive home care for seniors, new mothers and individuals needing recuperative and continuing assistance. We also offer Direct Link®, our proprietary line of 24/7 medical alert systems, including a fall sensor with GPS locator and an automated medication dispenser. Our caregivers serve clients in Baker, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, St. Johns and Volusia.
We have always been passionate about helping people. We offer services that help with the basic activities of daily living, including hygiene and nutritional needs, so you or your loved ones can stay in their homes living enriched, engaged and independent lives. Our team is dedicated to providing exceptional care that allows people to continue to enjoy the comforts of home.
Home Helpers offers free in-home consultations and works with each client to create a flexible, affordable care plan based on a person’s individual needs. Services offered include in-home personal care, companion care, homemaker services, respite care and 24-hour/live-in care. Additionally, Home Helpers will perform an in-home safety assessment before start of care.
We both graduated from Webster University – Geitta has a Master of Business Administration and Edward has a MA in Human Resources Development, MA in Information Technology Management, and MA in Management and Leadership. Edward served in the United States Navy for 20 years and Geitta has worked for the Department of Navy for 29 years. We have been married since 1992 and are the proud parents of five children and the proud grandparents of nine grandchildren. We live in Southeast Jacksonville.
So many people need someone who cares to help them live independent lives. The idea of franchising started when Edward attended an entrepreneurship seminar for veterans and, when we went to discovery day at Home Helpers, the light bulb went off. Home Helpers isn’t about selling a product and making money – it’s about helping people and making a difference, both for the people in our community and for our team members.
Home Helpers has the best service of any company that provides in-home care and we are looking forward to proving that here in Jacksonville. We are focused on hiring the best caregivers, matching those caregivers with the right clients and providing excellent care while also making sure our caregivers are treated like family and shown the appreciation they deserve. We are here to raise the bar for clients and for caregivers and we’re looking forward to meeting you.
