Home Care in Des Plaines, IL

I recently had the opportunity to work with Home Helpers with care for a loved one. I found their service to be professional and sincere. The staff at Home Helpers truly cares about their clients and their families. They were always there to help and guide my family with through out our journey. Home Helpers went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable with the care they were providing.for our loved one.. It bought my family peace of mind to know that our loved one was getting the best care.

My Dad was really against a caregiver – “Why do I need a caregiver I’m only 88?” he would ask. We knew he was having difficulty with many issues and finally worked with Tom and Joy from Home Helpers of Northeastern Illinois to get him to give it a try. We started out as a few hours a week and it’s now evolved into 24 hour care. Thank God we found Home Helpers! The caregivers are the nicest people and have that ability to put my dad at ease while still performing professionally. Tom and Joy have stayed on top of my dad’s situation and despite his challenges; he’s still at home where he wants to be. Of course, my Dad recently told his Doctor “Why do I need a cane I’m only 90?” - Some things never change!  

I heard Home Helpers had a good reputation, so I told my mother about them and she hired them. Her friend had Alzheimer’s and needed 24/7 care. They provided good people and good health care. They were living in the house with my mom’s friend. They would do the cleaning, cooking and some light housekeeping. Looking after him and make sure he got his medication. He couldn’t be left alone so they also watch him over at night. It’s practically round the clock care. We always felt very comfortable with them being there. We were very happy with their service. They were great.  

My wife and I were facing those life challenges that no one expects. Last spring Doris was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. I thought I could handle her care on my own. After a few months, my own health started to go downhill and we decided to hire a caregiver. Tom and Joy came out to meet us and left us reassured that life would be easier with their help. After using their services for the past three months, I do not know how we would go on without their guidance and especially their caregivers. Instead of being a caregiver for my wife, I am again her husband. While life still has its ups and downs we have a wonderful support system with Home Helpers.  

Thanks to Tom and Joy at Home Helpers, my 85 year old father has had safe and reliable transportation and companionship on his recent doctor’s appointments. Thanks also to Regina, his "driver"/caregiver, for all the kind attention and patience she has given to Dad. While he initially resisted being helped, he now looks forward to the companionship. My brother and I are glad that he is not going to the appointments alone."  

Outstanding! Home Helpers took wonderful care of my 88 year aunt upon her return home after being hospitalized for a long period of time. Mary and Moren were her overnight caretakers. They were so loving, caring and professional and were instrumental in helping my Aunt make a smooth transition back to her home. I was able to sleep at night knowing that my loved one was so well cared for during the night. I highly recommend Home Helpers. If I could give them 10 stars I certainly would. Thank you Tom, Mary,Moen & Xavier  

Staff was so pleasant and caring with my mother who had dementia. Highly RECOMMENDED!
