Address Where Care is Needed

OWNER BIOGRAPHY

When you or a loved one needs in-home supportive services—whether full-time or a few hours a week—you need a caregiver you can trust and a company you can rely on. I’m Serafina Batista Carson, the local owner and operator of Home Helpers of Napa Valley. I opened this business because I’m passionate about caregiving and wanted to provide families in my community with a better option. At Home Helpers, we specialize in providing comprehensive home care for seniors, new mothers, and individuals needing recuperative and continuing assistance. Home Helpers also offers Direct Link, its proprietary line of 24/7 medical alert systems, including a fall sensor with GPS locator and an automated medication dispenser. Home Helpers Napa Valley serves Napa, Petaluma, Sonoma, Fairfield, Green Valley, and the surrounding areas. My lifelong passion for caring for others started with caring for my own elderly parents, an experience that prepared me for when the unthinkable happened and my husband was diagnosed with cancer. He truly needed care and compassion at the end of his life. I also cared for friends fighting their own battles with cancer. My journey has taught me patience, strength, and the importance of having someone you trust to help when a loved one is in need of care, qualities I will bring to Home Helpers. Owning this business is a dream come true. If I could care for everyone personally, I would, but this is the next best thing. This work is very important to me. It’s not just a business. I want to make a difference in the lives of our clients and leave a legacy for my three sons. Home Helpers Napa Valley offers free in-home consultations. We’ll work with you to create a flexible, affordable care plan that fits your individual needs. In-home supportive services offered include personal care such as grooming, bathing, ambulation, medication management, care management, respite care, meal preparation, laundry, light housekeeping, companionship, and transportation. I was born in Sao Jorge, one of 9 Islands in the Archipelago of the Azores, Portugal, and I am one of the youngest of nine children. My parents made hard sacrifices when they immigrated to the US to give our large family a better life. Their experiences and personal commitment to the family taught me the importance of a strong work ethic, drive, and team-oriented attitude. I have always been an entrepreneur. I started and owned a Montessori School in Napa Valley, co-owned a construction company with my husband and was a Director at Mary Kay Cosmetics. I also worked in corporate America as a Field Development Manager for a direct-to-consumer wine-selling program. I am certified as a DSWA-certified business Coach and Trainer in early childhood education.
