Though we did not live far away, with both my husband and myself working, it was sometimes difficult to get there every day twice a day to make sure my father-in-law took his meds and had good meals. The Home Helpers “Wake-up and Tuck-in” service was exactly what we needed to fill that gap during the week. He lived alone and could still get around in his home by himself but did not like to cook anymore, needed housekeeping help and sometimes reminding to take his meds. We had inquired with other companies about this “split shift” type of care and never found it to be an option. This service allowed him to live out his last days as he wished, in his home and still living as independently as possible. My father-in-law always spoke very highly of his caregiver Karena and we were less stressed because we knew he was in good hands. David and Leeana always helpful and responsive.
