Prior to Home Helpers, Mundwiler spent 18 years as an occupational therapist, mostly with patients 55 and older. She has worked in multiple settings, including, most recently, in-home care. Mundwiler decided to open Home Helpers when she found she was ready to use her skills and passion for the senior population to open an in-home care agency focused on providing exceptional care with compassionate, well trained caregivers.
“Over the years I have continued to encounter individuals whose main goal is to stay in their homes as they get older. There are many companies who provide home care, but it’s my experience that not all of them are trained to enhance an individual’s quality of life, which is a vital part of their mental and physical health. At Home Helpers, our caregivers can meet almost any need, even if it’s just driving a client to lunch with friends or helping them get to the store. Those are the kinds of things we take for granted, but when the ability to do those things is lost, it leaves a void,” Mundwiler said. “We are looking forward to partnering with local seniors and families to help those in need of assistance live their fullest, happiest lives.”
My name is Marlene Samczuk.
I have been a caregiver for over ten years. My passion is to make a difference in other people’s lives and to help them. Knowing I talk and laugh a lot, I like to share those feelings with my clients, so they laugh and are happy too. I also like hearing all the stories my clients share with me. I love the closeness I have with my clients, and I want them to know how important they are to me.
I also work in the office and enjoy being a Care Coordinator. I love having the opportunity to do orientations with the new caregivers and go out into the field and train them at clients’ homes. I have been working here for five and a half years, and I absolutely love it. My passion will always be helping people out.
My name is Susan Brown. I am a Caregiver and have been one for more than 15 years. I consider myself a people’s person, I like to socialize and sometimes I think I talk a lot. Maybe that’s why I do what I do because I care for people.
My life is fulfilled when I take care of others, especially the ones who are not able to care for themselves due to various reasons. Being a Christian, I am reminded that when I do to the least of them, I do it unto the Lord and that makes it easy to love my job.
A while back, my dad was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer which had metastasized into other parts of his body, and he was in Palliative care the last days of his life where they took very good care of him. I vowed to do the same for my clients, take care of them as if they were my family. I take a lot of pride in what I do, and it is a pleasure doing it.
As a Client Service Coordinator, I’m pleased when the client tells me that they are happy with the services they get and especially when they like the caregiver. This means that we were able to match a caregiver with a client and that makes for a smooth ride. My aim is to be able to coordinate client services with ease by matching the client with the perfect caregiver.
Hello, my name is Brittney Vaught. I started caregiving with Home Helpers when I was just 18 years old. I always knew I wanted to be in the healthcare field. I have grown up very close to my grandparents and their friends and family, which is what drew me to geriatric home care.
I love working for Home Helpers because it gives me a purpose and makes me fulfilled in my life to fulfill others’ lives. Nothing makes me happier than knowing I made someone else’s life easier and bring smiles to our clients’ faces. I believe that my passion for caregiving, as well as for our clients, made me the perfect fit for finding more compassionate and dedicated caregivers to care for our families’ loved ones.
