[Jonathan] April is National Occupational Therapy Month. During this month, we emphasize the importance of occupational therapy, especially for patients being discharged from a facility and returning home. Today, I'm joined by Danielle Newsome, an occupational therapy assistant at the Inn at Freedom Village Rehabilitation. Thank you for joining us, Danielle. Great. So I've got a question for you, Danielle. How do you assess the individualized needs and goals of residents to tailor their occupational therapy?

[Danielle] That's a fantastic question. Occupational therapy holds immense significance for our residents here at Freedom Village. We evaluate their prior level of function and how they were before starting therapy here. Additionally, we ask our patients about what's important to them and how they live their daily lives. We always prioritize their goals and tailor therapy accordingly, focusing on what they need and assisting them with their more independent, everyday activities.

[Jonathan] Very good. I hope that was educational for you all. And if you have any questions, make sure you reach out to Danielle here at the Inn at Freedom Village Rehabilitation. Thank you, Danielle. And everyone, if you see an occupational therapist, please give them a hug this month during National Occupational Therapy Month. Until next time, we'll see you soon.
