Whether it’s full-time or a few hours a week, having an in-home caregiver can make for a longer, healthier and happier life. I’m Scott May and I opened Home Helpers of Ashland & Portsmouth because I understand the need for quality caregiver services and the difference bringing someone in the home can make.
Previously I worked at Schwan’s for 36 years where I learned their unique approach to building relationships and serving the community. I started from the bottom and worked my way up while being a father to my three kids. While I was at Schwan’s I met Wayne Gentry “Owner of Home Helpers in London, KY.” Wayne had been talking to me about Home Helpers for years and when I had an opportunity to retire from Schwan’s, Wayne called me right away. He knew I had a passion to serve and he told me about all of the ways working with Schwan’s had prepared me to serve my community in a new way with Home Helpers. After a few long conversations, I knew he was right and we decided that Home Helpers Home Care would be an excellent family business and opportunity to build a legacy. We cannot wait to serve our community and to see what God has in store for our business.
With Home Helpers, each individual client receives services tailored to meet their specific needs by caregivers who become an extension of their family. Home Helpers’ full-range of home care services empower clients to live healthier and more rewarding lives in the privacy, safety and comfort of their own homes. Let us show you how having a high quality, professional caregiver in your life can make all the difference.
Home Helpers Home Care offers the industry’s leading model for comprehensive care with its unique care program, Cared-4, which provides the four necessary components to living independently. This includes Personal Care and Companionship, Nutrition and Meal Planning, 24/7 Emergency Response, and Wellness Calls to help ensure medications and hydration are maintained.
