February is Low Vision Awareness Month. Our vision is one of our most important senses. As an Occupational therapist, we are often called upon to educate an individual on compensatory strategies, along with helping them adapt their environment, to help them maintain their independence.
There are many diagnosis that can be defined by Low Vision. Low Vision is a medical condition where your eyesight impacts your independence with daily activities; it is beyond the typical age-related changes of aging.
An individual experiencing Low Vision not only has a decrease in independence with daily activities, but also with hobbies and socializing. An individual with Low Vision can also be at a higher risk for falling. This is where Home Helpers Home Care can help.
Home Helpers Home Care provides non-skilled and non-medical services including, but not limited to, light housekeeping, meal prep, errands, personal care, transportation and companion care. Home Helpers Delaware is dedicated to helping individuals remain safe and independent with the best quality of life wherever they call home.
