Honoring Michelle: May 2022 Exceptional Caregiver

We are very proud to announce that our May 2022 Exceptional Caregiver of the Month is Michelle. She joined our senior care team in February 2020, and this is her second time receiving the award.

She was also a finalist for the 2021 National Home Helpers Exceptional Caregiver of the Year award. She traveled with others from our agency to celebrate this achievement earlier this month (May 2022) at the 2022 Home Helpers National Conference in Scottsdale, AZ. Her favorite part of the trip was hanging out with her colleagues and award winners from our agency.

Michelle has received countless compliments since joining our agency. An easy way to sum up the compliments is by using the words from a recent client: “We really love Michelle.” Many have praised her for her consistency because she never misses work. She also has demonstrated her ability to work with clients that have moderate to severe dementia. We are thankful that she recently picked up a position as a Care Concierge at our agency where she provides services to multiple clients at Water’s Edge of Bradenton each day.

When we interviewed Michelle about the award and asked why she enjoys being a caregiver, she said “It’s not a job to me. I never say ‘Oh, I have to go to work.’ I just love to make people smile.”

SOME INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT MICHELLE:

• She is from Syracuse, NY.
• She has two adult children, both in New York.
• She loves going to Coquina Beach, here in the Bradenton area. She also loves to collect wooden masks from countries around the world. She also loves the simple things such as spending time on her backyard hammock.
• Her favorite foods are French onion soup and pizza. Her favorite restaurant is Applebee’s.
• Something you probably wouldn’t know about Michelle unless she told you is that she previously worked as a Program Coordinator in a nursing home/skilled nursing facility.

With this award, Michelle has received a special gift from Home Helpers of Bradenton and has also been nominated for consideration for the Home Helpers of Bradenton Exceptional Caregiver of the Year, the Tampa Bay Home Helpers Exceptional Caregiver of the Year, and the national Home Helpers Home Care Exceptional Caregiver of the Year.
