WHAT DO YOU LIKE most ABOUT BEING A CAREGIVER?
Most of all, I love it by, you know, just being companion to the clients. To making sure that they feel comfortable with me, and me being comfortable with them, and doing all I can to assist them with their needs.
I guess I’m grateful of the opportunity to take care of people because the clients that I’ve had taken care of, some of them can’t, you know, their mobility is weak, and I’m there to assist them with it. But and most of all, it’s like the one that stands out, I’ve been experienced for so long. I’ve been doing it for so long that it seems like, I can’t, you know, seem to let it go. I mean, I started out early and aged now, I’m older, and it seemed like I just feel like I just can’t stop. I mean, I don’t know what else to do. A medical field is just it’s just me, helping people. You know, I’m a people person. So I’ve been doing it from 1972, and now I’m at the age of retiring, but I’m still doing it.
YOU WERE RECOGNIZED RECENTLY AS “THE SINGING AIDE” ON TV (BAYNEWS9) DURING WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH. HOW WAS THAT EXPERIENCE?
Oh, that experience was, it was very nice. It was, I just felt it was a privilege to be picked and to be talked about, the way the client had wrote it in words for me. And it was just an opportunity, you know, I never had an experience like that before, and I’m just honored. Just honored.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT WORKING AT HOME HELPERS OF BRADENTON?
Now, I just love what I’m doing. The staff is good, from the staff out into the field. It’s just, I just am not for so much, because I was on TV or anything, but it’s just, the people are just genuine and they’re good. The office is helpful, and I have fun. I can come back, and never come in here going out sad for my day, it’s just helpful all around, from the phone calls to the texts and everything, everybody tried to help. Everybody has just been, oh, I love them. They’re very good.

Speaking as a professional in the senior living space I would feel confident making referrals to Home Helpers and have the trust in their team to provide supportive services with care and compassion. Leadership comes from the top and I know that their team of qualified healthcare providers will do right for your loved ones and give you the peace of mind you are seeking. I would highly recommend Home Helpers for any of my clients and their families!
We engaged Home Helpers of Bradenton for our father who was in a rehab facility. They had been recommended and we were very satisfied. From the prompt initial assessment (on Christmas Eve!) to the rapid planning for what days/times we needed, to the outstanding services of the aides we received. It’s important to note that the main ‘office’ is essentially available 24x7 by phone or text. We had a lot of shifting needs and Margie and the team were always available and flexible at any hour. Finally was the exemplary service of home health aides Deborah and Beth. Both were responsive and professional. Especially Deborah who was an active and effective communicator, always keeping us informed throughout her session. I highly recommend this organization.
"Shari Root was caregiver to my partner for many years five days a week. she helped get him up in the morning showered and dressed and situaed in his wheelchair. He loved when she made him grilled cheese sandwiches her special way. She was always available to help around the HOUSE NEVER sat down to do coloring or puzzles like some of the other aids that we had. I was happy to hear that she was made Aid of the year and will be honored at a banquet in Tampa Florida and a trip to Scottsdale. Kirk would be very happy to hear her being rewarded in this manner. "We have reached out to jonathan and his team 2 times when my father-in-law fell and needed extra care at home. Since we live out of state, its was a huge weight off of our shoulders to know that my miL had the support she needed. Shes only 4’8” tall and Physically could nOt help him. having the emotional support Made all the difference for her. During the 2 times, they had a main caregiver, Ursy, with extra support when She couldn’t come, every caregiver that came was punCtual, pleasant and helpful - each in their own way. Some liked to cook, some were good at doing extra things to keep the house tidy, but all were attentive to my FIL’s needs. They kept him safe and got him moving again after his falls. Jonathan and his staff were always easy to contact and responsive to our Changing needs. As my fil recovered each time, tHey willingly CHANGED the Hours of care. I would not hesitate to call jonathAn again if we needed him."
