When you are talking to a care provider, you want to feel like your family is the only thing that matters. At Home Helpers Home Care of West Marietta, we are focused on that kind of priority care. There are a lot of companies out there – some are much larger – but we’re here to provide a certain level of attention to detail and care. I’m Melissa Adams, the owner of Home Helpers Home Care of West Marietta, and that’s my commitment to our clients.
Home Helpers Home Care of West Marietta offers the industry’s leading model for comprehensive care with its unique care program, Cared-4SM, which ensures clients receive comprehensive care in four key areas: Personal Care and Companionship, Nutrition and Meal Planning, 24/7 Emergency Response, and Wellness Calls.
My husband and co-owner, Chris Adams, and my parents played an important role in inspiring me to open this business and gave us firsthand experience navigating the realities of caring for aging loved ones. My mother serves as the primary day-to-day caregiver for my father, while I help manage many of the financial, healthcare coordination, and medical-related aspects of my parents’ care. Meanwhile Chris works closely with his brother to help coordinate and manage his mother’s care needs. We are part of that sandwich generation – we’ve walked in many of our clients’ shoes and we understand what it takes to provide the level of care you want for your loved ones.
In addition to my personal experience, I bring more than 23 years of leadership and operational experience from the healthcare IT industry, where I led strategic initiatives, operations, client partnerships, and team development focused on improving healthcare experiences and outcomes. As a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA)®, I combine professional expertise with firsthand caregiving insight to help families navigate the often-overwhelming decisions that come with aging, illness, and recovery. As co-owner, Chris brings more than 20 years of business development and relationship management experience within the education technology and educational publishing industries. I’m also a current member of the Cobb Chamber of Commerce and of the American College of Healthcare Executives of Georgia Toastmasters Club, serving as the current past president and previously as the vice president of public relations.
Our combination of professional leadership experience and personal caregiving insight is helping us build a locally owned home care agency focused on compassionate service, strong communication and meaningful community relationships. We love helping seniors and those in need of recuperative care maintain their dignity, independence and quality of life wherever they call home.
I believe families need more than caregiving services—they need guidance, education, and a trusted partner. Whether helping a family understand home care options, connecting them with community resources, exploring veteran benefits, or developing a long-term care plan, my goal is to help families make informed decisions and feel supported every step of the way.
My team and I work with individuals and families throughout Marietta, Kennesaw, Powder Springs, Acworth, Austell, Mableton and the surrounding communities. We look forward to meeting you!

When you’re looking for someone to care for a loved one, you want to know they will be treated with the same compassion, dignity, and respect you would provide yourself. At Home Helpers Home Care of West Marietta, that’s exactly what we’re committed to every day. I’m Chris Adams, co-owner of Home Helpers Home Care of West Marietta, and I believe caring for others begins with listening, building trust, and understanding what matters most to each family.
Home Helpers Home Care of West Marietta offers the industry’s leading model for comprehensive care with its unique care program, Cared-4SM, which ensures clients receive comprehensive care in four key areas: Personal Care and Companionship, Nutrition and Meal Planning, 24/7 Emergency Response, and Wellness Calls.
My wife and co-owner, Melissa Adams, and my mother have had a profound impact on my decision to help build this business. As my mother has lived with Parkinson’s disease, my brother and I have worked together to help coordinate her care while balancing family responsibilities and full-time careers. Through that experience, I’ve learned firsthand the importance of understanding an aging loved one’s perspective, communicating openly as a family, and making every day count. Like many of the families we serve, we’ve experienced the challenges of balancing work, raising a family, and caring for aging parents.
Professionally, I bring more than 20 years of business development, relationship management, and leadership experience across the education technology, educational publishing, and retail industries. I began my career with Textbook Warehouse before Melissa and I spent nearly a decade owning and operating two Edible Arrangements locations, including opening our second store from the ground up. Following our entrepreneurial journey, I returned to the education industry before joining HMH in 2022 as a Senior Field Account Executive, where I’ve been honored to earn both President’s Club and Pinnacle Club recognition. Throughout my career, those experiences have reinforced the importance of exceptional customer service, building strong teams, and creating lasting relationships within the communities I serve.
Building relationships has always been the most rewarding part of my career. I enjoy getting to know people, hearing their stories, and understanding what’s most important to them. Those same principles guide my work with Home Helpers as I build relationships with families, healthcare professionals, and community partners throughout West Cobb.
Outside of work, I enjoy giving back through organizations including Habitat for Humanity, Open Hand Atlanta, and Atlanta Reads. I also enjoy coaching youth sports at the YMCA and spending time on the pickleball court.
I believe families need more than someone to provide care—they need a trusted partner who will listen, communicate, and genuinely care about their loved one’s well-being. My goal is to help families feel supported, provide peace of mind during challenging times, and ensure every client receives the same level of care and respect I would want for my own family.
I look forward to serving individuals and families throughout Marietta, Kennesaw, Powder Springs, Acworth, Austell, Mableton, and the surrounding communities.

Working at Home Helpers Home Care has been a wonderful experience. The Owner Dr Gunjan Arya is amazing management team is supportive, understanding, and truly values their employees. They provide the training and resources needed to succeed while encouraging professional growth. One of the things I appreciate most is how much they genuinely care about both their caregivers and their clients. The work environment is positive, communication is excellent, and I always feel respected and appreciated for the care I provide. The scheduling is flexible, and the team is always willing to help when needed. Itโs rewarding to work for a company that is dedicated to making a difference in peopleโs lives every day. I highly recommend Home Helpers Home Care to anyone looking for a supportive employer or anyone seeking compassionate, high-quality care for a loved one. The Chilolo Princessopen - 5 Star Iโve been working with this agency and honestly the employees are treated so well. Dr. Gunjan is a gem and one of a kind. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for work as a PCA, CNA, Home Health Aide etc. This agency provides top tier care for their clients.
Read MoreWe have been using Home Helpers to care for both of my ailing elderly parents, whose health deteriorated at the exact same time. After the nightmares of insurance hassles for hospital and rehab stays, Dr. Arya and her staff treated us with respect and kindness. Their professionalism, thoroughness and consideration has made an extremely difficult challenge so much easier to manage. Highly recommend.
Read MoreWhere do I start. I placed a phone call after hours in noticing this company with ratings which seemed very genuine in the reviews given. Our family was in need of services with in Home help for our Step Father. He has dementia. I left a message after hours with their answering service. To my amazement I recvd a return call back from Jennifer at Home Helpers. Jennifer coordinates care as a team with the Owner Debbie and is with you from start to finish. I knew immediately the company was a good fit. The office is available- answers the phone- returns calls- walks you thru in educating you of the process- provides solutions - seeks information- does their very best to provide the experienced fit for your loved one. The company provides training- incentives and finds ways ti make their days special. Most important the company knows their staff providing deep respect and care as well. Home Helpers company Owner Debbie went to the rehab facility to meet with my mom (she broke her femur) to see if indeed this could work together as a team for care. I came from another state to be here for my mom and realized it was more care that was ever imaginable. The company as a whole reassured us they would find a caring- experienced - compassionate and reliable caregiver. Well they did!!! A peace of mind has set in & comfort level began. A remarkable company in 2 locations that sets standards for their team- care givers and includes the home family to be part of all of it. May everyone experience a sense of calm even though there may be some storms during the process on this journey. He is a World War ll Veteran and he deserves the experience and quality of care this company has brought to their home. We now can focus on memories- moments and miracles moving forward. With Gratitude and so much more... Debbie Holzendorf
