I’ve dedicated my entire career to serving others—both in the United States Army and the private sector—and I’m proud to bring that same passion for service to Home Helpers Home Care.
I’m Dr. David L. Johnson, a retired U.S. Army Colonel and proud veteran. I previously served with the U.S. Army Wounded Warrior (AW2) Program under the U.S. Army Medical Command (MEDCOM), where I advocated for veterans transitioning home, recovering from injuries, or living with disabilities. That mission continues today through my work with Home Helpers, where we deliver compassionate, customized care to families throughout Northern Virginia.
At Home Helpers, we offer the industry’s leading model for comprehensive home care through our unique Cared-4℠ program. This approach supports four essential components of independent living:
- Personal Care & Companionship
- Nutrition & Meal Planning
- 24/7 Emergency Response
- Wellness Calls to support medication reminders and hydration.
What sets us apart is our rigorous caregiver selection process, our commitment to pairing the right caregiver with each client, and our fully personalized care plans. Whether you need full-time care or occasional support managing medications, we’ll tailor a plan to fit your needs.
I’m an Alabama native and began my military career in 1986, enlisting in the Reserve Component as a Cannon Crewman at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. I earned my commission through the Auburn University ROTC Battalion in 1989 and served in key leadership and strategic roles at the highest levels of the Department of Defense—including positions with HQDA G-4/5/7, Strategic Plans and Force Integration, and HQDA G-3/5/7 DAMO-SOC.
My military education includes the Ordnance Officer Basic Course, Transportation Officer Basic Course, Command Logistics Officer Advanced Course (CLOAC), Command and General Staff College (CGSC), and the Joint Combined Warfighter School (JCWS) in Norfolk, Virginia.
In the private sector, I held several senior leadership positions with the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) both in the U.S. and overseas. I also served as a Senior Analyst for Corvus-Castellum Consulting, LLC, supporting the Department of Defense in Cybersecurity.
Academically, I hold a Doctor of Business Administration in Leadership from Walden University, an MBA in Technology Management from Capella University, an MBA in Management from Amber University, and a Bachelor’s in Business from Auburn University at Montgomery.
Today, I’m proud to combine my military and business experience with my commitment to care, serving veterans and families across Bristow, Catharpin, Dumfries, Gainesville, Haymarket, Manassas, Triangle, Woodbridge, and nearby communities.
We look forward to serving you and making a meaningful difference in your life and the lives of those you love.
